Handbuilding in Clay
Length: 2h.
This class will focus on hand building basics, including making pinch pots, coil building and slab techniques, as well as surface decoration and glazing.
Students will start by making tableware, including plates, bowls, mugs, and more. The techniques can be used for sculptures, as we progress though the class sessions. We will cover planning projects and how to best construct them.
If students are proficient on the wheel they can incorporate wheel thrown components into handbuilt pieces. (Please note, however, that pottery wheel skills will not be taught in this class.)
All levels welcome, beginner to advanced.
