HOW DO I REGISTER AND WHEN? Online website checkout, phone or mail. Early registration is encouraged.
CAN I REGISTER AND PAY THE DAY IT STARTS? No. Campers cannot be enrolled unless payment has been processed.
IS A HEALTH FORM REQUIRED? Yes it is mandatory. We now use RecDesk which provides a family portal which keeps track of all your programs, health forms and payments. RecDesk will require you to fill out a health form for each camper at the end of the checkout process. If you registered prior to RecDesk, you will have to go to kac.recdesk.com and select Health Form from the drop-down menu. Then follow prompts to fill out the form(s). If you have any problems please call the office at (914) 232-4843 for assistance.
WHICH AGE GROUPS DO YOU OFFER? Art & Imagination is ages 3 ó to 5 years; Kids Art for grades 1-5 (grades entering for the Fall) and Teen Camp. Some camps are grades 3-5 or grades 4&5, check the description for specific age groups.
WHAT IF MY CAMPER IS IN BETWEEN CAMP AGES OR GRADES? You may choose either age camp group.
WHEN ARE THE CAMP TIMES?
Art & Imagination Pre-School Camps: Mornings 9:45-12:15pm; Afternoons 1:45-4:15 pm.
Kids & Teen Camps: Mornings 9:30-12:30pm; Afternoons 1:30-4:30pm.
DO YOU OFFER AN EXTENDED DAY OPTION? Yes, campers must pre-register at least 48 hours beforehand;
Mornings 8:30 - 9:30am is $15/day, Afternoon 4:30-6:00pm is $20/day. Early drop-off or late pick-ups that exceed 15 minutes will be charged the extended day rate.
WHAT DO THEY DO DURING EXTENDED DAY? Extended Day care gives a chance for campers to unwind comfortably within the creative atmosphere of the art center. Campers are allowed to free draw, play, do artwork, read, play boardgames, make bracelets or crafts. Extended care is provided during office hours under the care of a teacher or teachers’ assistant.
CAN WE REPEAT CAMP TOPICS THROUGH THE SUMMER? YES!! Art has no creative limits! Every day and project is a new beginning.
HOW MANY CAMP TOPICS ARE COVERED? Topics listed are options - choose one topic for each half-day weekly session.
DO THEY BREAK FOR LUNCH? Yes, full-day campers will be escorted and checked into lunchtime and their afternoon camp as well.
DO YOU HAVE A/C & WATER COOLERS? Yes.
DO THEY TAKE A SNACK BREAK? Yes, campers and staff take a snack break. Please pack a daily snack for each camp, two daily snacks for full-day campers.
DO WE NEED TO BRING ANYTHING BESIDES A DAILY SNACK? Possibly, be sure to check the topic description.
WHAT IS FREAKY FRIDAY? All campers and staff, dress up in costume every Friday. Campers should bring money for the ice cream truck.
WHAT IF MY CHILD HAS AN ALLERGY? CAN THEY STILL ORDER FROM THE ICE CREAM TRUCK? Yes, the ice cream truck has various options to support some allergies. You may pack a special snack for your camper, please let the office and instructor know.
DO YOU HIRE TEACHER ASSISTANTS? Each camp has 1-2 assistants (in addition to the camp instructor), depending on the age group and topic.
WHAT SHOULD MY CAMPER WEAR? Campers should be dressed in “art clothes” or be sent with a smock.
WHAT IF THE CAMP I WANT IS FULL? Campers will then be added to a wait list for that specific camp topic. If a spot opens you will be notified ASAP.
DO YOU OFFER PAY PLANS? We do not offer payment plans for Summer Camps.
CAN WE DO A FREE TRIAL? There are no free trials for camps, only classes. Feel free to stop by anytime for a visit! See events including our Open Studio/Open House.
SHOULD MY CAMPERS’ LUNCH BE NON-PERISHABLE? Non-perishable lunches are encouraged. Most lunches are able to keep well if ice packed. Lunches are stored indoors.
IS KAC PEANUT FREE? Due to the number of students attending each week, we do not guarantee a peanut free environment. However, we do our very best to make our camp peanut free.
CAN MY ART & IMAGINATION CAMPER BE FULL-DAY? Full-day registration is available only if the camper is picked up in between the morning and afternoon sessions. We currently do not have an option for an afternoon camp for this age group. Please email email@example.com for further iinformation.
