Ariella Toeman
Ariella is a classically trained Pastry Chef turned Potter. Her background in food, languages and travel comes together in making ceramics and pottery for the kitchen and home chef. As a mom of three, she started taking pottery classes at the JCC while living in San Francisco. Pottery has given her an artistic medium to work with her hands and some much needed me-time:) Since moving to Westchester, Ariella honed her skills at Clay Arts Center in Port Chester and most recently launched her own small studio business out of her home in Irvington, NY.
Ariella studied Languages and Linguistics at McGill University followed by a certificate in Pastry Arts from Le Cordon Bleu Paris. She worked in Paris as a Pastry Chef (Pâtisserie Fauchon), as well as in NYC (Daniel Boulud and Jean-Georges Vongrichten). Food and cooking have always been a central part of her life, an intrinsic value and blending of culture, religion and identity into one.
Her art is inspired by food and nature, Ariella is a maker at heart, and enjoys getting her hands dirty in crafts as well as the garden. Her aesthetic is whimsical and free-form, exploring clay, surface design and texture. As she hones her crafts and finds for artistic voice, Ariella is excited to join the team at KAC and share her love of clay!
